Veteran and Military Connected Services
Welcome
Welcome to Tri-C's Veteran and Military-Connected Services (VMCS) program!
As the name suggests, this department is here to assist veterans as well as those who are military-connected, including those still serving or family members of a service member. There is a VMCS center at each of the four main campuses. Swing by to study, hang out or ask questions. Drop in or reach out by phone or email if VMCS can help you with anything related to Veterans Affairs education benefits, GI Bill, registration, scholarships or acclimation to campus life.
Explore the links below to learn more about resources both in and out of Tri-C. For a step-by-step guide on the application process, view the Steps to Success page.

Military/Veterans Attendance and Participation
The following is Tri-C's policy, developed in accordance with the U.S. Veterans Administration (VA) — Education Policy Manual Section 103, PL 115-407, regarding student veteran status while awaiting VA tuition and fee payments. Those affected are student veterans using Chapter 33 of the GI Bill® (Post 9-11 GI Bill®) or Chapter 31 (Veteran Readiness and Employment).
The College will NOT:
- Penalize the student while waiting for the VA to make tuition and fee payments
- Deny a student access to classrooms, libraries or other institutional facilities
- Make the student borrow money to cover the cost while waiting for payment
- Charge a student a late fee or penalty
The period of coverage begins when the student provides the school with a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) or a Statement of Benefit:
- The College can require the student to submit the COE or Statement of Benefits no later than the first day of the program.
- The College can also require the student to submit a written request to use benefits or other necessary certifications.
The period of coverage ends when the VA makes payment or 90 days after the date the school certifies tuition and fees.
Tri-C is one of Ohio’s first institutions of higher education to achieve the Collegiate Purple Star campus designation for supporting student veterans. Read the story.
Tri-C has once again been designated a Military Friendly® and Military Spouse Friendly school. Out of over 1,800 eligible schools, Tri-C joins 529 other schools in this designation.
